The Outside Looks Like My Inside ...

Here is a poem I want to share ... so good for a day like today when the outside looks like my inside.

"Home is So Sad"
by Philip Larkin

Home is so sad. It stays as it was left,
Shaped to the comfort of the last to go
As if to win them back. Instead, bereft
Of anyone to please, it withers so,
Having no heart to put aside the theft

And turn again to what it started as,
A joyous shot at how things ought to be,
long fallen wide. You can see how it was:
Look at the pictures and the cutlery.
The music in the piano stool. That vase.

Well... I think I still have a set of spare keys somewhere. I could come mess up your apartment while you are at work... That way, it won't be the same when you get home.

You are a sick person, Jack. I anxiously await the first performance of Jack Hotel and the Demonlovers and my spare keys ... I don't need a cat-sitter till March.
